Day 1 : Strolling round the city centre
The buzz of the Christmas market
In front of Saint-Étienne church and the impressive Renaissance city hall, Mulhouse’s Christmas market is in full swing! Here the little wooden chalets are decorated with a precious and original cloth. Every year, a new special edition is designed for the Christmas season.
How about a museum?
Why not take a culture break away from the Christmas market marathon ? The capital of technical museums, Mulhouse is home to the prestigious Cité de l’Automobile, the Cité du Train as well as the Musée d’Impression sur Etoffes (fabric printing museum). At the latter you will find a museum shop full of a host of gift ideas: table cloths, shawls, scarves and stoles as well as many decorations.
Day 2 : A traditional sharing christmas
An old-time Christmas at the Ecomusée d’Alsace
At Christmastime, richly decorated for the festivities, the Ecomusée d’Alsace revives the traditions of an Alsatian Christmas with numerous events and activities. Make your own bredele, attend a Christmas storytelling evening, rediscover all the traditional decorations in numerous exhibitions. And to the great delight of our little darlings, St. Nicolas will be paying a visit to reward the good children ... A real journey back in time into the authenticity of Christmas.
Christmas at the Parc de Wesserling
The Parc de Wesserling 40 minutes from Mulhouse awaits you for a surprising visit after dark. This former manufacture royale invites you into the heart of its 5 magnificent gardens to experience a glittering winter’s night. You’ll be bewitched by the magical night-time atmosphere featuring soft lights, stories and Christmas traditions.
