Christmas bakehouse in the Bread Museum of Alsace

Savour Christmas at the Maison du Pain d'Alsace! The museum and the bakery are waiting to give you a taste of Christmas.

  • In the bakery, you'll be able to smell all the Christmas aromas thanks to the many specialities such as schnitzlaïwel, christolle, gingerbread, kougelhopfs and, above all, almost 35 types of bredele produced and baked on the premises. You can also watch the bakers producing all these delicacies.
  • In the tearoom, you can sample our famous flaky fir tree accompanied by mulled wine or hot chocolate.
  • At the museum, you can hear the bread cracking, and investigate with your family to discover the legends of Christmas! You'll learn that in Sélestat, the fir tree is king!
  • New at the museum: a tablet-based investigation will be available for families to discover the history of bread in a fun way! Audio guides will also be available.

Special opening times: 24/12 from 8.30am to 3pm, 31/12 from 9am to 3pm, closed on 25 & 26/12.
